Food Bank Support

Wallingford class have been rehearsing a play based upon the heart-warming folktale ‘Stone Soup’. The 1947 tale centres around a tired and hungry soldier who visits a village who are unwilling to share any food with him. The soldier tricks the locals into sharing their food by convincing them he can make soup from a stone!

The story highlights the importance of ‘caring and sharing’ and how we all have a responsibility to help those less fortunate than ourselves. To accompany the story pupils visited Newbury Food Bank and donated food items collected at Post-16.

Well done Wallingford class for helping your local community and receiving your certificate from Newbury Food Bank!
