Building works @ The Castle School

As you may have noticed, we have some building works going on at our Love Lane site. Here is a little more information about what is going on:

1. Roofing repairs - you may have noticed scaffolding around our Primary building. We have had several leaks in our roof since the summer holidays and despite attempts at repairs we have not been able to stop the ingress of water. As such, the local authority are supporting us in a complete roof replacement. This is very pleasing at it means we will have a brand new roof that will last for many years to come. The works will start soon and will last for about 10 weeks.

2. Sports Track - thanks to some very impressive fundraising by Jayne Tomlinson (Trailblazer Fundraiser) with the support of parents, staff, local business and grant bodies, we have raised enough money to build a proper 100m 6-lane athletics track. We will also be building a tarmac two lane track around the field to enable all our pupils, whatever their mobility levels to access the field for exercise. It will also allow us to use bicycles in a safe area and allow access to the field even when it is wet. The building works will start this week and will go on for about 12 weeks.

I will keep you up to date about progress.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

Many thanks,
