Weekly Update 22.2.21

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you and your families are well.

Like me, I imagine many of you were keen to hear the plans for the 'roadmap' from the government last night about easing restrictions around COVID-19. As expected, Boris Johnson outlined the plan for easing lockdown over the coming months. There are lots of positive that we can take away from this announcement and there is definite hope that things can get back to some sort of normality by the summer. Of course, a lot of caution has rightly been placed within the announcement to ensure that we do not return to a similar lockdown again.

As for schools, it has been announced that all pupils will return to from Monday 8th March, which will be welcome news to everyone. We are all very excited that we will be able to welcome everyone back into the Castle School family. It has been such a long time and we have missed all those pupils who have now been in school very much indeed.

Of course, my job now is to ensure that this can happen safely for everyone. As such, we will be looking at the detail that comes out from the government and making sure that we have all aspects covered.

Over the coming week and a half, I will send out further information on protocols and operational plans so that you are fully aware of what is happening.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the senior leader for your child's bubble.

Best wishes,

Jon Hewitt
